The space
The spacious, cozy studio apartment is located in the well-known Pico-Fairfax area, and right down the street from the newly revitalized Pice Boulevard corridor, which is in the midst of a dynamic rebirth. With the 10 Freeway just around the corner, the location is minutes from both the beach and downtown. And the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as well as The Grove shopping/entertainment center and Original Los Angeles Farmers Market are blocks away. In fact, with the apartment officially located in Mid-City" Los Angeles, most of LA's main attractions Hollywood, LA LIVE, Leimert Park, Beverly Hills, Culver City, Century City, Westwood, LA Coliseum, etc. are all within striking distance.
Restaurants, cafes and deli's are a short walk away, including city-wide favorites My Two Cents, Sky Taco, Bloom, CJ's and the world famous Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles. Additionally, there are a host of eateries nearby that deliver everything from Chinese, Tai, Italian/Pizza, Caribbean and much more. The apartment is also located near three major supermarkets and several gourmet coffeeshops, dry cleaners, barbershops and hair/nail salons, clothing boutiques, art galleries, florists, and yoga and fitness studios.
Shop until you drop! Along with the nearby Grove shopping center, the studio is also close to the Beverly Center and Westside Pavilion, offering a wide range of options from nationally know outlets (Macy's, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Hugo Boss, etc.) to local favorites. Each of these locations has an Apple store. Also, a Ross discount store is located up the street if guests need to grab a quick, inexpensive item.
The studio is housed in an owner-occupied duplex on the lowest level of the property that is accessible via one flight of stairs. It's a stand-alone unit that is private and not shared by any other residents. It also features a private entrance.
It boasts a queen-sized bed, flat screen TV, internet, cable, private washer and dryer, large walk-in closet, private bathroom (shower only), and a full kitchen equipped with dishwasher, microwave, coffee-maker and blender. Heat is provided by space heater. Also, beach towels, tote bags and chairs (two of each) are available for tenant use.
It's situated in a friendly neighborhood that is peaceful both night and day, and hospitable for morning walks or late-evening jogs. Ample street parking is available on non-metered streets. (Alternate side of the street parking is enforced on Mondays and Tuesdays.)
In terms of public transportation, there are buses that run often on nearby Venice and Pico Boulevards, offering stress-free rides to the beach and downtown. The owners live upstairs but generally stay out of the guests way, unless they are needed. There is also a small dog upstairs; little Bailey is quiet and sweet.
Guest access
Guests have a private entrance to the self-contained apartment. The studio is one flight (of steps) up from the street level.
Other things to note
Mid-City Los Angeles is undergoing a revitalization, so great food and fun are very close, with new spots poppin' up weekly. Additionally, given the apartments central location, and access to the freeway, guests are not far from any of the City's main attractions. It makes for a great "headquarters" for an LA visit.
