About the space
This beautiful house is only ten years old, fully furnished and in great condition. It is clean, bright, spacious, and has new floors. The common areas are generously sized. The kitchen is large and has a dishwasher. The house is completely furnished down to the plates and silverware, making it a great place for graduate/professional students, new faculty residents/fellows at the hospitals or others who are moving to Pittsburgh (including foreign students) and don’t want to deal with the hassle of buying everything you need for a comfortable home.
Furnishings include: an attractive, solid wood dining table and chairs; a couch, chair and coffee table for the living room; pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils and everything else needed in the kitchen; a full-size bed, desk, office chair and clothes storage rack for each of the three bedrooms. There are 1.5 bathrooms. There is ample storage space in the basement and room for bike storage in the garage.
A high-quality washer and dryer are available for free use in the basement. The only things not provided are bed linens and towels.
The lease will begin August 1, 2020 and extend through July 31, 2021. The house is conveniently located near several of the universities (especially Carnegie Mellon and Pitt). There is a one car garage, room in the driveway for another car and plenty of street parking in this quiet residential neighborhood. The address is 783 Clarissa St (near the corner of Camp St.), 0.9 mile from Pitt's Cathedral of Learning, and 1.4 miles from CMU.
There is a bus stop a ten-minute walk away with Pitt buses to both upper and lower campus, and the 82 via Centre Ave. Bus stops for the 71A, 71C (via Centre Ave.) and the 54 buses are a 15-minute walk, and the busway is a 20-minute walk. The 71A, C, and 82 go to Giant Eagle (grocery store), and within a block and a half of Whole Foods (grocery). Target, Trader Joe’s, and Bakery Square are all accessible via these bus routes as well without having to change buses.
There is a medium sized bedroom available for $675 plus utilities . A $1350 security deposit is required when the lease is signed, and first month’s rent is due when occupancy begins. $40 for a credit check is required at the time of application. Utilities (gas heat, electric, water, sewer and wireless internet) come to about $80/mo/person averaged over the whole year.
No smoking or pets. Tenants should be willing to keep the house neat and treat it with the respect that a nice home like this deserves.
