Located between Palo Alto and San Carlos, Redwood City sits in the heart of Silicon Valley in California. It's the seat of San Mateo County, and the county courthouse and jail are located here. Some of the 80,000 plus residents work at local companies including Oracle and Electronic Arts, while others commute to nearby towns to work at places like Google. The city is home to the only deepwater port in the Bay Area outside of San Francisco. The Caltrain can take riders to San Francisco and San Jose. To get to the Hayward, Oakland and other areas of the East Bay, it's easiest to drive.
