About the space
North Seattle charming light-filled basement studio mother-in-law apartment in a well-maintained 1949 house. Rent includes everything -- utilities, wifi, parking and use of washer/dryer. The space is 362 square feet and well-designed for a feeling of spaciousness. Private entrance and a full kitchen. Shared laundry room with the owner of the house and use of a fabulous country-style garden. Attractive artwork from local artists covers the walls, but can be removed at your request. Wool area rugs are on comfortable and insulating rubber flooring. Very colorful and peaceful. Quiet neighborhood, plenty of on-street parking. The view out the main windows looks on to the neighbor's windowless side, making for a very private space. Walking distance to several Metro bus lines: #5, #40, Rapid Ride E. 1 block from the Interurban bicycle/walking trail. 35 minute bus ride to downtown. 40 minute woodsy walk to Carkeek Park, a favorite beach park in Seattle.
I am an artist who lives in the upstairs part of the house. We would be bumping into each other from time to time, either in the laundry room or in the garden. I am quiet, mature, warm , respectful of privacy and friendly and am looking for a compatible tenant.
Upon application the prospective tenant is asked to supply 3 references and proof of income. A payment of $35 to cover a credit and background check is required, which will be reimbursed if the credit/background check results are adequate and you rent the apartment.
