About the space
I'm renting out private bedrooms in my 6-bedroom home. The renters in the bedrooms will be sharing a bathroom. The home is so close to highways, shopping, hospitals, and things to do.
The area: My home is located in Springdale, MD, which is very close to Upper Marlboro. My house is in a very quiet, safe neighborhood with lots of nature and a ravine in the backyard, where you’ll sometimes see some animals and lots of birds. It’s going to be best if you have a car here; getting around via public transit can take a while.
The house:
- Very private space in the house - large bedroom
- Parking in driveway and street parking
- Very quiet and safe neighborhood
I also have a basement apartment with its own entrance, kitchen, and private bathroom.
Shopping: The Woodmore Towne Centre is a 7-minute drive away. I sometimes walk there, which takes about X minutes. That center has a Costco, Wegmans, Best Buy, and Nordstrom Rack.
Transportation:
It takes about 30 minutes to drive into D.C. from my place in Springdale with some traffic.
- The ramps to the Beltway (495) and the 202 are both an 8-minute drive.
- The Metro stop at Largo Town center is an 10-minute drive. It would take an hour or so to walk there, so I wouldn’t recommend trying to walk there to catch the Metro.
Hospitals:
- Kaiser Largo Medical Center is an 8-minute drive.
- Kaiser Prince George’s Medical center is 25 minutes away.
- UM Bowie Health Center is about 20 minutes away on 50.
Universities and colleges: The house is ~15 minutes from Fortis College and Prince George’s Community College.
Other things nearby:
- FedExField, where the Washington Redskins play.
- Greenbelt Park, a national park
- The U.S. National Arboretum, which has amazing displays all year round and is free.
- Six Flags is 10 minutes away
